How to Sell on Instagram Authentically

Are you selling on Instagram? 

If not, it’s time to start, and the good news is you can do it authentically.

Many people have a knee-jerk reaction when the thought of selling comes up and immediately think selling via social platforms is scummy.

But here’s the deal: we all started a business to provide a service to our clients but they can’t take advantage of our amazing value and services if we don’t tell them about what we do and how we can be the solution to their problems.

There are ways to sell authentically on Instagram.

  1. Make sure your bio is clear and direct 

Detail out who you are and who you serve. Also have a link in your bio so they can get in contact with you without leaving the platform. 

  1. Content

Create content that resonates with your audience and your dream clients. I often take notes during consultations so that I can write captions that will offer solutions to their pain points. 

If your current clients keep asking you the same questions or have the same problems, make sure to use those as ways to connect with future clients by offering the answers and solutions to those problems.

  1. Consistency

Showing up on Instagram consistently is a game changer. 

This doesn’t mean you need to show up everyday 3 times a day but pick a schedule that works for you and stick to it. 

Maybe it’s 3 times a week or 5 times a week — either way, make sure to provide value on those days.  People will start expecting you to be there and you will start growing your community of loyal followers that will want more from you.

  1. Engage, Engage, Engage

So now you have a clear profile, you have a consistent schedule and you are providing value to your dream clients. The last piece of the puzzle is engaging with your current audience and potential clients. You could have the best content in the world but if you are not engaging with your community and reaching out to build relationships you are going to fall flat. They need to know that you care about them and their pain points. Engage with followers as well as reach out to potential new community members via industry specific hashtags.
