There are so many ways a Virtual Assistant can help you and your business. From taking over simple tasks like handling your calendar to more strategic tasks like creating your social media strategy, they can be your partner in business and assist you in going from a state of overwhelm to a well oiled efficient machine. If you are a solopreneur, it is always helpful to have a second pair of eyes on your business, especially when you are in the weeds of it everyday.
A Virtual Assistant, “VA”, is an independent contractor that provides services such as general administration, social media marketing or website assistance and beyond. They could also be small business owners from their home office. The term “Virtual Assistant” has really become a blanket term for contractors helping small business owners with various tasks.
One of the main reasons why a VA is key in the beginning phase of your business is because you can hire one to do a certain amount of hours per month at an hourly rate or they can provide a specific service for you at a flat fee.
Virtual Assistant’s set up and run their own businesses differently, but the most common price structure you will see when hiring one is to pay an hourly rate or a monthly service rate.
In the beginning stages of your business when your budget is tight, it’s a great way to get the support you need within your budget.
Once you bring on your Virtual Assistant and you give them the tasks that are taking up your day, you have more time for money making activities, like sales and networking. You can then increase the hours or areas where your Virtual Assistant is helping you.
If you are thinking of hiring a VA in 2022, I always recommend that you take a week and write down all the tasks and/or projects you are doing on repeat that YOU don’t need to be doing. A few examples of time consuming tasks to delegate would be creating status documents or invoicing clients.
At the end of the week take a look at all the tasks you wrote down so you know what type of Virtual Assistant you will be looking for and what their skill set should entail.
You deserve the support you need in your business and a Virtual Assistant is a great way to get that support within any budget.
Overwhelmed by the thought of hiring assistance for your business even though you need it?
I’ve got you!
