Raise your hand if you’ve ever stared at your social media account thinking, “What do I post today?” It happens to all of us. The good news? You don’t have to stay stuck! Here are some easy, practical ideas to get those creative wheels turning again.
Share a quick tip
You’ve got knowledge and your followers are eager to learn so share it with them!! Share a simple tip they can actually use. It doesn’t have to be revolutionary! Just actionable tips in bite size pieces that they can put into action or form their own thoughts around. Sharing quick advice reassures your audience that you’re here to help, and they’ll thank you for keeping it short and sweet!
Ask your audience a question
Here’s something to remember: people love to talk about themselves. Asking questions is a great way to spark a conversation and make your feed feel more interactive. Keep your questions easy to answer and relevant to your audience. For example: “What’s your go-to productivity tool? I’m always on the hunt for new ideas!” or “What are your favorite weeknight family dinners?” These kinds of questions show you care about what your followers think, and their responses can even inspire future content.
Behind the scenes
People want to know there’s a real person behind your business. Share a little bit of your day-to-day life or the behind-the-scenes process of your work. Maybe it’s a shot of your desk with your favorite coffee mug, or a quick clip of how you’re prepping for a big project. B-roll video is evergreen and can always be used for a variety of content and topics. It’s a simple way to connect with your audience and position yourself as relatable in a multitude of ways!
Repurpose old content
Here’s the thing about social media that’s easy to forget: not everyone sees every single post. That means you can absolutely pull out something you’ve posted before and give it a little refresh. Think about a tip you shared months ago or a blog post that didn’t get as much attention as it deserved. For instance: “Throwback to this tip that I have shared before but it’s worth repeating! Remember, small steps add up to big progress.” This saves you time and effort while still giving value to your audience. Repurposing is a win in my book and the easiest content to create when you have nothing else in mind!
Celebrate a win
I love cheering others on even if it is virtually! If you’ve had a recent win, no matter how big or small, take a moment to share it. Maybe you reached a business milestone, wrapped up a successful project, or got glowing feedback from a client. It’s uplifting and reminds your audience that you’re making an impact.
Share content that inspires you
Not all the content you share has to come from you. If you read an article, watched a video, or found a quote that really resonated with you, share it with your followers. Sharing what inspires you adds variety to your posts and shows that you’re always learning and growing.
Keep it light and simple. Social media doesn’t have to be stressful or complicated, it’s actually supposed to be fun! Often, it’s the quick, off-the-cuff posts you throw together that spark the biggest reactions—not the ones you spend hours perfecting. The key is to show up and share content that feels genuine. Focus on being yourself, connecting with your audience, and having fun with it. Consistency and authenticity matter way more than perfection!
