Too often, business owners find themselves offering services they don’t enjoy simply because they think it’s what they should do. Sometimes even offering certain services because there is potential to set a higher price tag of said service. Your service suite should be a reflection of your expertise, your passion and your vision. Offering services you genuinely enjoy can boost your confidence and happiness while simplifying your business, attracting ideal clients, and opening the door to greater opportunities. Here are my top tips on crafting a service suite that you’ll love!
Self Reflection:
Let’s start with a little self reflection. Think about what you really enjoy doing and what lights you up in your business. What makes you excited to work with clients? Also, be honest with yourself about what feels like a chore or doesn’t align with your goals. These services might need tweaking or rethinking altogether. When you get clear on what works for you and what doesn’t, it’s so much easier to create offers that feel authentic and generate happiness.
Define your ideal clients and their needs:
It’s important to think about who you’re building it for. Think about your ideal clients- What are their goals, challenges, and dreams? What problems are they looking to solve? When you understand what they need, you can create services that truly speak to them while still feeling aligned with what you enjoy doing. It’s all about finding that sweet spot where their needs and your passions meet!
Pricing with confidence:
Pricing your services can feel tricky especially in the beginning, but it doesn’t have to be stressful. The key is to charge in a way that reflects the value you’re offering and the time, effort, and expertise you put in. What feels fair to you but also aligns with the results your clients are getting? The worst feeling is hitting burnout because your time on the service is worth more than what you charged the client. We have all done this at at least once.
Client journey:
Thinking ahead when creating your service suite is critical! I find that creating a progressive client journey will give you the best chance at expansion and growth in your business and here’s how. You want your services to feel like a natural progression, making it easy for clients to see how you can help them every step of the way.
How do your services guide them from where they are now to where they want to be? Whether it’s starting with a quick intro call and then diving into a more in depth package, mapping out a clear and enjoyable journey creates a better experience for your clients. For example, offering a single service like podcast management and after working with the client and seeing where their needs lie, you could then offer to do some outreach for them to be guests on other podcasts to further their reach and help grow their business. Crafting a progressive client journey with your services can benefit both you and your clients!
Testing, tweaking, reassessing and perfecting:
Once you create your service suite and get it up and running, it’s time to test it out to see how it works in the real world. Don’t be afraid to make adjustments as you go- this is your chance to tweak things that aren’t quite clicking or add something new based on client feedback. The more you fine tune your services, the more you will get a feel for what truly works for both you and your clients. With each modification, you’re getting closer to a service suite that just feels right.
Crafting a service suite you actually like is all about finding that perfect balance between what excites you and what is the solution to your clients’ pain points.. It may take some trial and error along the way but when you build something that feels aligned with your passion and goals it’ll make your work so much more rewarding!
